avram | Yay, comics!

A new issue of Promethea, and it’s actually got a plot and stuff! Looks like this series is back on the upswing. I also got Overbite and was just about to leave Cosmic when I saw a copy of Take-Out #5 on the counter, and snagged it. Happy, happy.

ladymondegreen and akawil are off to sunny Cal-i-forn-eye-a for a filk convention, so I’ve got the place to myself for a few days. Bacon party! I lended them some reading material for the trip — Geoff Ryman’s The Child Garden and John Kessel’s Corrupting Dr. Nice. Me, I’m still working through Ken MacLeod’s Dark Light, second in the Engines of Light series. Neat, but not as good as the Fall Revolution books. I did mention at some point that the background to The Star Fraction, which seemed far-fetched back in 1999, seems scarily plausible now.
