No more [blech]

OK, it seems to be over. I’m feeling much better, and my [ick, yuck] is a lot less [ewww] than it was yesterday morning. I may actually venture away from a toilet today. I feel good enough to work out!

  • Weight: 279.5, down from like 283 last week, but being sick will do that.
  • Dumbbell squats: 1 sets of 15 reps with 12-lb weights, 2 sets of 15 with 15-lb weights.
  • Dumbbell stiff-legged deadlifts: 3 sets of 15 reps with 21-lb weights. The limit here seems to be what my hands can stand holding for that long. Also, my weight set tops out at 21 lbs.
  • Single-legged calf raises: Only 2 sets of 15 reps with a 9-lb weight. Don’t know why this exercise is getting more difficult. Maybe ’cause I do it third, and I’m pushing myself harder on the other two, so I’m that much closer to exhaustion when I get to it? Well, I haven’t worked out in a week; let’s see how I do on my next lower-body workout, Friday.
  • Ab crunches: 2 sets of 20 Hot Point style, 1 set of 20 penguins. No cramps.

On the agenda for today:

Go to Chinatown. Hit Pearl Paint, Soho Art Supply for wraparound canvases (the kind stapled on the back, if at all, so you can paint on the edges), maybe some paint (quick inventory of what I’ve already got first). Finding my copy of The Acrylic Painter’s Pocket Pallette has me in the mood to smear pigment. Though what I’ll probably wind up doing tonight, if anything artistic, is prepping the canvases with absorbent ground.

Maybe have some Chinese food. Congee would have been a really good thing for me over the weekend, and might still be, but I’m starting to crave some curry beef stew on rice (with hot pepper sauce).
