What poetry form am I?

I am the sonnet, never quickly thrilled;
Not prone to overstated gushing praise
Nor yet to seething rants and anger, filled
With overstretched opinions to rephrase;
But on the other hand, not fond of fools,
And thus, not fond of people, on the whole;
And holding to the sound and useful rules,
Not those that seek unjustified control.
I'm balanced, measured, sensible (at least,
I think I am, and usually I'm right);
And when more ostentatious types have ceased,
I'm still around, and doing, still, alright.
In short, I'm calm and rational and stable -
Or, well, I am, as much as I am able.
What Poetry Form Are You?

Hmmph. The Italian sonnet is a *much* more emotional form.

Ooh, fun!

I just posted the full answer in my journal, but I'm Ottava rima -- a poetry form I don't think I ever heard of before.

Thanks!

yeah seriously.

Terza rima, with Ottova rima as a second choice. I know neither of these folks. I think they're Italian.

But, hopefully, such a literati quiz contains no overt errors in spelling or language, which makes it unique.

I am likewise the sonnet. I thought it was [livejournal.com profile] womzilla who was supposed to be your evil twin.

Took it a while ago, got Heroic Couplet.

Mine were pretty different, I thought: terza rima and triolet. No, not that different now that I read them again. Sheesh.

Seems I'm Heroic Couplets, and if I weren't, I'd be Blank Verse.
