Holy crap! I've seen 81/100! I blame TCM and TiVo.

Also, judging by your other "seen" movies I think you may have seen #67, which was released in the US as "The Professional" in a slightly edited form.

Yeah, I've seen 79 of these, and liked most. I think this says that IMDB user ratings probably reflect what I like pretty well (and I probably ought to see the rest). What is surprising is how far away this list is from a hypothetical list of favorite movies among the general population. The Shawshank Redemption is a good movie, but I don't think it would be very close to the top of such a list, and although Seven Samurai could be in my top ten, you'll likely get a blank look if you mention it to a random person.
