Game shopping

Seen at the Strat: San Juan, a card game based on Puerto Rico. I didn’t buy it, though. I figure there’s about a 75% chance that someone else did, and will have it at GC tonight. It’s currently the #1 seller at Funagain.com, but nobody’s posted a review yet.

I did buy a copy of Bang, and failed to find a replacement for my lost copy of Verräter.

SJ: Yay! It's here!

San Juan is, in fact, quite a good game, though I don't have a copy yet.

I'm afraid I'm going to be kicking butt in this game for at least a few games, since I've had some practice (um, about 13 games, of which I won 4) on brettspielwelt.de.

It's a much faster game than PR, which is nice -- 2 player seems to take 15 minutes on bsw, while 3 seems to take 20-30 minutes, and 4 about the same or maybe a bit more; since it has far fewer moving parts than PR, the difference between online play and real life shouldn't be nearly as much.

I should maybe visit NG on my way to GC today...

I went to the strat yesterday, as well.

Seen, but not bought: Corsairs a pirate-themed card game from Rio Grande.

Seen, and bought: Nanofictionary a story-telling card game from Looney Labs. As is typical for them, they have two different styles of play outlined in the rules - the second one probably being more workable.
