So it looks like my job was a bit less secure than I’d thought. Around 2 PM Friday I ran out of project to work on, and the client whose stuff I’d been planning to go onto cancelled on us. The current client will be looking at the new material on Wednesday, and then probably asking for changes, but since I’ve been working hard on getting things into shape, I don’t expect many changes. So now I’ve got a few days off, then on Wednesday I get to hope that I haven’t been as thorough as I’d thought. Ack.
I spent the rest of the afternoon at the Starbucks on Broadway and 17th, sketching people:

As I was putting away my sketchbook, the Asian woman in the glasses came over with her friend and asked to see what I’d been drawing. She was pretty pleased with my drawing of her, she asked if I had a business card. I really ought to make one up.
The it was off to Games Club, our last week not in exile for this season. Played three games of San Juan; for one of them we tried playing a five-person game. Rule changes: Add a second Prospector (we used a tile from Puerto Rico), game ends with the tenth building instead of the twelfth, and each Gold Mine can only be used once per round (like the Library in a two-player game). Worked pretty well.
