“and if Kerry loses, adviser Bob Shrum, who, in essence, said the public was too stupid to understand Kerry's accomplishments, should be strung up by his balls and batted around like a pinata by the Democratic party leadership until he bursts open and showers everyone with his innards”

Yeah, I've been wondering these days why the Democrats don't make more out of Kerry's post Vietnam service.

By not talking about Iran-Contra and BCCI, they've allowed the lie about his public service being career motivated to be drumbeat into a concensus hallucination.

Iran-Contra would have been a tough sell. Not only does it invoke -- and try to stain -- the Holy Name of Bonzo, but the so-called men who were involved came out looking like heros (aided and abetted by receiving pardons for their treason).

BCCI would have been good to hear about. At least it would have kept more people's minds on the economy and their purses, which is a winning Democratic topic.

I wonder why they didn't come out swinging; the high road is something they were well advised to take after the inauguration, but until then, they had the incompetent boob in their sights and plain couldn't get off a killing shot.

I have some hope, but boy, would I rather be ahead in Ohio than behind.
