Failed user pic #1

I worked up a new user pic today, but it turns out that I still don’t quite have the hang of making a drawing that’ll work well shrunk down to 100x100 pixels (as you can see below). I need to work smaller, with thicker lines. And the drawing itself isn’t quite right.

No, no, no, much too mean, too brooding. I'm not sure what else is wrong. Too narrow, maybe? Whatever, add wouldn't-hurt-a-fly nature and it'll look much better. And call me.

Agreed. You look narrower and glowery, in ways that aren't natural to you.

I'd have to look at your head more closely, but I think the shape is off. Too much like a lightbulb, or one of those pulp aliens with the huge brains who sneer at us primitive Earthlings. (The "I-Am-Avram-Feel-My-Power" glowering doesn't bother me as much.)

I agree with the 'too narrow' analysis. Have you tried inverting the picture vertically? Sometimes that causes the resemblance to manifest.
