Cutty the cuttlefish

This should look familiar to mamishka — I drew something like this in a letter to her a while back. That was watercolor pencils, this is acrylics. I wanted to test out that absorbent ground, so I slathered some onto a small canvas board. Works pretty well. I’m way into this acrylic glazing thing.

One of my prospective new roommates emailed me some apartment listings; one is for a place that pretty close, has three bedrooms, and costs less then what we’re willing to spend. I’m psyched. The deadline for renewing my gym membership is coming up next week, and I want to have some idea of whether to renew (if I’m moving someplace nearby, or close to another branch) or let it drop and join a new club near the new location. Not that I’ve been to the gym in the past month....

Look, I know that you need to save money, but... Have you thought this through? I don't mind taking over for you at Lincoln Pl. and stuff, but maybe you'd be better off finding a boarder to sleep on the couch or something. I don't know if you should give up the apt. you have a lease for in favor of a new lease that you may have problems getting. That's all.

Just since you've started really painting a lot again, I've seen a sort of style develop. This is some really cool stuff. Frankly, I prefer the more cartoony things you've been doing to the portraiture, simply because while you're good at portraits and such, your little cartoony things tend to simply floor me. This little guy, for example, is stunning.
