For those of you who aren’t reading down through my comments: I’ve just discovered some Buffy/West Wing crossover fan fiction — Donna the Vampire Slayer.

Hey, I've done the Sorkin-log thing myself, though it was more a Sports Night Dan-and-Casey kind of exchange.

I actually think Nomad, the fanfic author, does a decent job of it. I love the fact that Toby is the Watcher. The author is clearly British, and doesn't quite know enough to keep all the Britishisms out of the story.

Yeah, it's not so bad, but it does grate a little when it's not quite the thing itself. Hell, as you note in the linked post, the thing itself can get a little grating...

And Toby-as-watcher was neat, though Bartlett-as-watcher would have been over-the-top hilarity. And it would have done better as pure bizarre-humour than as bizarre-humour that frequently segued into fangirl-relationship-theorizing. Not that I have anything against fannish-relationship-theorizing, it's just that this was not a chocolate-in-my-peanut-butter kind of combination.

Or something. I read the whole damn thing anyway, 'cause I'm compulsive that way.
