Arisia
Did:
- Hang out with the
madlabrabbits, got to play Aquariusonne (which feels more and more like a real game every time we play it; I ought to formalize and publish the rules), won a game of Ice Towers that I thought I was going to lose, helped test a still-very-vague Fluxx-Zarcana hybrid that’s still got a long way to go. - Discover that one now has to go outside to get to the Au Bon Pain. Brrrr!
- Have a Monte Cristo sandwish at Bennigans. Ever had one of these? It’s a farily conservative sandwich — ham, turkey, cheese — deep-fried and sprinkled with sugar, served with strawberry jam. Who came up with this? Was some guy really in the mood for a waffle, didn’t have any waffle batter, but he did have a sandwich?
- Hang out with
cthulhia, get to chat briefly with
chanaleh,
mangosteen, talked comics and old times with
jbsegal. Spent the usual lots of time in Nancy’s button emporium, chatting with Nancy, arguing about copyright with some blowhard who based his arguments on emotion-derived axioms instead of on the actual Constitutional basis for copyright, and getting reaquainted with my own work (Chris hands me a button. I look, “Yeah, that’s funny.” Look again. “Hm, I think I’ve seen that before.” Look harder, check with Google. “Um, yeah, I wrote that.”). - Get quite distracted by someone there who looked quite a lot like, um, someone else who wasn’t anywhere near there.
- Find a couple of new (to me) anime to check out: Now and Then, Here and There and NieA_7.
- Actually sing something at a filk, at Harold’s urging. (Mike Rubin’s “Three Laws of Thermo”, ’cause I had the lyrics on my Visor.
Didn’t:
- Enter anything in the art show. Really, to do this I’d have had to plan long in advance, but I really should work up some small paintings for such purpose.
- Even get around to seeing the art show, for that matter.
- Get to eat at Legal Seafood, as I like to do at Arisiae.
- Meet as many new people as I’d have liked.
- Volunteer for anything. Really ought to.

So come to Boskone next month and try again. There's a RASFF Valentine's Day Party in the planning...

Re:
Okay, not a very Atkins-positive meal, but one I would have enjoyed. Yeah!
