Small world
I was skimming through
cthulhia’s
chanaleh, who seems to be my Bacchante from the weekend. (Here’s a photo, from an earlier party. And here’s one of Cthulhia, who’s prettier in real life.) And it looks like she knows
ladymondegreen. Only five-thousand people in the world, really. The rest are all computer graphics.

I actually was drawn to read your LiveJournal because of your userpic of Lucy from Peanuts.

And also I'm definitely a Peanuts fan :-)

Small Press Expo is a comics convention for small-press publishers, held in Bethesda, Maryland each September for the past few years. Earlier in the year they take in contributions -- freely donated by the creators -- for the Expo book, the profits from which go to the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund. It's a big, thick bundle of comics for about $8-10, an amazing bargain, even if large portions of it aren't very good. Anyway, the 2001 book was the best one yet (2002's not nearly as good), and had a color section. A recommend it highly and enthusiatically. New Yorkers, I think you may still be able to find it at Jim Henley's on 33rd Street.

Actually, I think you overestimate the number of computer graphics. The rest are hoax journals. Hah!

The bit about "six degrees of separation" falls apart when you know someone like Jon Singer (or, I guess, ladymondegreen)
