Angelus interruptus
Mar. 19th, 2003 10:26 pmFucking television. One of my dreams is ubiquitous super-broadband net connections and a business model that lets viewers directly support the studios that produce TV shows, bypassing the broadcaster entirely and making TV networks as relevant as buggy-whip manufacturers.
Five minutes from the end of tonight’s episode of Angel, the station interrupts the show for some “breaking news” about the upcoming war with Iraq. And having done that, they tell me nothing of any actual immediate import, nothing that I couldn’t have found out for myself in thirty seconds browsing of Google News. Just typical breaking news coverage — nothing to say, but in a big hurry to say it.
