Hustled on the stairs, like yesterday. Got half a flight farther — up to roof, down to lobby, back up to 2nd floor, then halfway up to the 3rd before I felt my legs thinking about cramping.

I’m wondering if maybe I’d be better off just going to the lobby, where there’s a small flight of four or five steps, and going up and down that a whole bunch of times.

Tried using the building’s stairs for some quick cardio exercise. I jogged? walked quickly? ran slowly? from the 2nd floor up to the roof (nominal 5th floor), then down to the lobby, then back up to the 2nd. I could probably have gone another floor or two if I’d had to to save my life or something.

So that’s up 3 floors, down 4, then up 1.

Also walked up seven damn flights of stairs, because the elevator was acting funny on the ground floor. Of course, by the time I got to the gym on the 7th floor, it had fixed itself and beaten me there.

And afterwards I was pretty wiped out. I spent most of the day wandering around Manhattan doing various chores, but I walked very slowly. I’m skipping the workout tomorrow, picking it up again Friday. Eventually I’ll get back to my old pattern — six days a week, alternating aerobic with weights.

Unlike Wednesday, when I just couldn’t go on, today I felt like maybe I could have done another set of Shoveling (probably just 10 or 20 reps), but decided not to push it.
