Jadies and lentilmen, I am now at the lowest weight of my adult life: 271 pounds. (I don’t count the times in summer 2000 when the gym scale said I weighed as little as 270 — that scale turned out to be broken.)

  • Weight: 271
  • Dumbbell squats:
    • 15 reps with pair of 18-lb weights.
    • 15 reps with pair of 18-lb weights.
    • 15 reps with pair of 21-lb weights, 3 more pounds than last time.
    • Standing quad stretch after each set.
  • Dumbbell straight-back straight-leg deadlift:
    • 15 reps with pair of 21-lb weights.
    • 15 reps with pair of 21-lb weights.
    • 15 reps with pair of 21-lb weights.
    • Hamstring stretch after each set.
  • Single-legged calf raise:
    • 20 reps with 12-lb weight, 3 more pounds than last time.
    • 20 reps with 12-lb weight.
    • Step straight-leg calf stretch after each set.
  • Ab crunches:
    • 3 sets of 20 reps of Hot Point crunches.
    • 2 sets of 20 reps of penguin crunches.

I’m smackin’ myself for not having started this months ago. Well, a month ago, since the weather was too cold for outdoors excercising all winter and well into spring. Actually, I did just finish my third week on Heavyhands, which is most of a month. But it’s just been one week doing both that and the weights, every day.
