Exploring the borders
May. 22nd, 2003 10:03 pmOK, my bank was still open (for future reference: Open till 6 PM on Thursdays), the checks are deposited. Stopped into AI Friedman to pick a pack of canvas boards, 4x5, but the smallest they had was 4x6. They did have a bin of gel pens for 50¢ each, so it wasn’t a total waste.
I saw the new Palm Zire 71 at Staples — damn, that’s neat. I was hoping it’d be cheap, since the Zire’s their low-end line, but no, it’s $300. Even if I traded in my old IIIx, that’s still $250, way too expensive a luxury.
Cheap luxuries are still available. I finally found a copy of Light Speed at Neutral Ground. Yay!
I also picked up a box of toploaders for the Magic: the Gathering cards I want to sell on eBay.
cattitude recommended that I get “hard toploaders”, but I’ve been unable to find a product named that. I’ve got Ultra-Pro Toploader Series 3x4 toploaders, super clear; anyone know if this is what I should be using? They cost $2.50 for the box of 25; this is about what one site charges for what it calls “rigid toploaders”. (I’ve also got four snap holders, the kinds with the card-sized insets in them, for my Mox gems, but I got those a few weeks ago.)
Another MtG question: I’ve got two Volcanic Island cards, one white-bordered, one black-bordered. The Find Magic Cards site tells me there are two versions of this card, from the Unlimited and Revised sets. Which is which? I’m assuming that the white-bordered card is Unlimited, so I guess the black-bordered one is Revised, but I could use some confirmation.
