I realized today that all the sketches I’ve been doing recently are of objects (including people) in isolation, and I nedded to work more on groups and settings. So I knocked out a quick sketch of the Starbucks where I was having a mint mocha frappuchino:

Nice to know I can still fake halfway decent perspective without a t-square or a straight edge.

Then I went to Pearl to pick up a cheap t-square to go with the drawing board I’ve got in my living room. My drawing table is still inaccessable, but I’ve got a drawing board, and a couch, and a ruler, and knees. I also bought a 30-60-90 triangle, and a 05-sized black Pigma marker (just to fill out the range of points, since I already own most of the others; the sketch was done with 1, 03, 01, and 005 sizes). On the way to Manhattan I rode between cars on the Q train going across the bridge; that’s fun, and not as noisy as I’d feared.

Back in Brooklyn I got some onion naan and garlic-and-herb goat cheese at Sahadi’s, walked home, stopping off at Met Food for some fruit and some peppermint Dr. Bronner’s bar soap. I haven’t been to the gym since last Wednesday, but I’ve been walking all over the damn place.
