Lilo & Stitch

Another bit of Brooklyn. I was going to sketch the beautiful Montauk Club, but couldn’t find a convenient place to sit close enough to get a good view of the details. So I sketched this molding off a nearby row house:

Someone walking by asked me about what I was doing, whether I was an artist, whether moldings were my “thing”. Do I need to have a thing if I’m an artist? As things go, buildings make a pretty good one — there are a lot of them, and they don’t move much. But while I’m interested in buildings this week, who knows what I’ll be into next.

I phoned Chris about going to see Minority Report, but she wasn’t home, so I walked over to Court Street and saw Lilo & Stitch, which was delightful and gorgeous. There were points where I nearly lost track of what the characters were doing for looking at the amazing lush watercolor-style backgrounds.

In other news, my mother tells me that she may have a line on some freelance web-design work for me. I’ll know more in a few days.
