The 48th of September

I need either a new watch battery or a whole new watch. First I noticed that it seemed to have dropped back an hour. Then I realized, while resetting it, that it had actually dropped back 13 hours. I managed to fix that, but the date display is totally fucked — the day portion starts at 33, and won’t get any lower than that. It’s currently displaying “9-48”. I’ve lost track of how long I’ve owned this one; it might be more than a decade old, still running on its original battery.
Spent some time at Ground again, sketching. It’s got comfy chairs with overhead lamps. I’m not the only one who’s discovered this; there was a guy there doing some colored pencil work in his sketchbook, and another doing some logo design on a Mac laptop. And they all smoke! Not all at the same time, fortunately, and Ground seems to have a ventilation system that can keep up.
Anyway, turns out to be a pretty artistic neighborhood. Speaking of which, I found the storefront that’s going to be opening as a new art supply store three blocks from my apartment sometime in September.
My favorite of these is the guy with the bat-wing ears. He’s definitely gonna get a name and some dialog.
I’m just so happy that Melorne’s finally got a name. She seems to have lost a bit of weight in between when I drew this and when I scanned it. Very mysterious.
