It’s five-fucking-forty-two aye-goddamn-em, and I can’t get to sleep! I went to bed around 3 AM, drifted off, and then suddenly sprang into full wakefulness around 3:45, spent another hour or so lying in bed, and then got up and finished off Kevin’s Invader Zim tape. At least now I know what “Aww, my bees” refers to.

Sleep, weight loss
Jun. 21st, 2002 06:04 pmI did, eventually, get to sleep last night. Woke up around 1 PM, decided it was too late to go to the gym, making two no-gym days in a row (and I won’t be going tomorrow or Sunday either), but the scale in my bathroom says I lost another half-pound anyway. This brings me down to where I was about a year ago, but I still have 18 pounds to go to get to what the malfunctioning (and therefore untrustworthy) scale at the gym said I weighed at what, if I could trust the old gym scale, would have been my lowest adult weight in August of 2000, that in turn being about 70 pounds more than I think I want to weigh. If writing unwieldy sentences was a form of aerobic exercise, weight loss would be a snap.
I should go to Games Club tonight; I need to be more social.
The seekrit painting arrived at UPS’s Rockford Air Hub in Illinois at 8:16 this morning. This is so cool; I remember when I was having a package shipped to me at Crossover/UnGames, and I was tracking it practically neighborhood by neighborhood as it moved through Manhattan.
A nice thing about painting...
Jun. 21st, 2002 07:30 pm...is that it forces me to keep my dishes washed. My bathroom sink isn’t big enough to accomodate the big butcher pan I’m using as a palette nowadays, so I clean the thing off in the kitchen sink, and I have enough of a self-preservation instinct that I really don’t want to sluice cadmium residue over my eating utensils. (Hmm, I suppose I could use the bathtub.)
Not that I use as many dishes as I used to. Fresh fruit (and occasional veggies) make up a big part of my current diet. (I’m using diet in the “habitual nourishment” sense here, not the “kind and amount of food prescribed for a special reason” sense. Or the “national or provincial legislature” sense either, for all that I suspect my local and national legislatures are made up largely of vegetables.)
