I got a videotape (an episode of Farscape that I’d missed) in the mail from [livejournal.com profile] mamishka yesterday (it actually arrived last Thursday, but it took me till yesterday to get over to the post orifice and pick it up). I phoned Mimi up to thank her, and we wound up chatting for a couple of hours, just like we used to do when I was in college. She forbade me from buying any more art supplies till I’ve actually made some art and shown it to her. (Scanning it and posting it here counts.)

Other than that, a pretty dull day. I did laundry, and not much else, despite my plans to work up some sketches for a portfolio piece that came to me during dinner on Sunday, based on some photos I took in Chinatown last week with my new camera, thus justifying the expense.

Oh, and I registered a domain for my online portfolio. More about that after the domain resolves.

Heft, heft. Stretch, stretch. Ache, ache. Day 11 of Hot Point weightlifting. Day 12 (coming up on Thursday) marks the end of Phase 1. I don’t think I’ll be moving on to Phase 2; that requires four days of weightlifting. (Phase 3, for professional athletes, requires five.) I do think I’ll be adding in at least two days a week of aerobic exercise on my Phase 1 off days; that’s less than an hour a day, and I can read while doing it.

I found myself able to do two exercises (beginning push-ups and walking lunges) that I’d been unable to do on previous attempts. Part of this was physical improvement, and part paying closer attention to the descriptions of the exercises in the book.

I also discovered that I hadn’t actually registered the domain yesterday — a transaction I thought PayPal would handle automatically required action on my part. So I’ve done it today.
