Missed Firefly

Fucking television. I did set the VCR to tape Firefly, but I forgot to set my cable box to the right channel, so instead I got an hour’s worth of whatever the Sci-Fi Channel was showing last night at 8. A user-interface guru I know once wrote that computers need to be as easy to use as televisions. I think he’s got it wrong — I want a TV that’s as easy to use as my computer.

Universal truth / Single man with a fortune / A wife is needed

A note jotted down last night in Sketchbook Minor: What if Jane Austin wrote a samurai story? (I probably meant Austen.) There’s a bit more than that, enough to tie it in to some other long-term free-floating background ideas. Not an actual plot, or characters, but a bit more fertilizer that may cause some to grow, though I fear of a sort I’m ill-equipped to write.
