Have you folks been reading [livejournal.com profile] almeda’s journal? She links to all sorts of neat stuff in her “link sausage” posts. Just what I used to do in my weblog before I got all sour and political.

[ busy box ] She linked to this article on web.morons.org about how the “Church” of Scientology is trying to get its nonsense taught in British schools. I noticed something I’d seen before — web.morons.org seems to run a macro that generates an arbitrary cluster of HTML form elements in the margin of its pages; see the “Busy Box” illo. What I hadn‘t noticed before (I guess I‘d been using MacOS 9 last time) is that under OSX the pull-down menu with the ASCII smiley looks a lot like something out of Tales of the Beanworld.

[ boxes ] OK, got that first comic box just about filled. I’ve also filled up two boxes of regular ol’ books that I’m sure I’m gonna want to bring over to the new place, one box of reference books and one of really good fiction. I’m probably going to be able to fill another box with reference books, and three or four more with fiction, and then come the comic TPBs, arg. I think the time to cut way down on kept fiction is approaching.

I didn’t accomplish what I had set out to, which was excavate my drawing table. But it’s a start.

Looks like my Wacom tablet/mouse gets unstable after a week or so of continuous uptime on my computer’s part. Current driver version: 4.7.2.-5. I tried to check for a new version, but the appropriate page on Wacom’s site wouldn’t finish loading, not even after I gave Links a shot at it. First 12k or so loads, then nothing. I’m guessing some kind of server fuckage on their side. I’ll try again next week.
