I’ve been seeing ads on TV for Baz Luhrmann’s new Broadway production of La Boheme, which will probably have audiences full of teeny boppers complaining that it rips off Rent. I’ve yet to see any of Luhrmann’s movies, but I think I’m going to have to make time for them. Not just because both Kevin and [livejournal.com profile] mamishka have said interesting things about them, but also because I just love how the announcer guy in the commercial says his name. Ba-a-ahz Lu-u-u-u-hrrmann. He’s practically purring. I wish I had a name like that. My name gets points for unusualosity (which is why I’ve got a taller-than-typical glass of Google juice), but it just don’t got that sexy purr.

My Hedwig and the Angry Inch CD (or one of them — I’ve also got the cast album, but that’s on the shelf, it’s the movie soundtrack I’m hearing now) has come around in my five-disk changer. That got me thinking about the missing scene in the movie — the explanation of how Hedwig met Yitzhak, and why he isn’t allowed to wear a wig. Without that scene (which was in the off-Broadway production) part of the ending is incomprehensible.

Anyway, I just googled for it, and found that the scene was shot, and cut, but is included as an extra on the DVD. Cool!
