Arg! Our DSL connection is down! The housemates are away, and we’ve got flat-fee long distance, so I can just grab the phone line all night and dial into Panix, but geez, it’s like trying to suck a thick, delicious shake through one of those tiny straw-like things you stir coffee with. And I keep losing the connection; I’ve had to reconnect manually two or three times so far.

I wound up taking swag home from our Mother’s Day celebration, and I’m not even female! My brother-in-law was getting rid of an old Canon scanner, not quite as good as the one I’ve got upstairs, but good enough, so I may leave it down in the living room so I can scan art in when I’m working downstairs.

The real cool thing was that my parents found a couple of old Israel bonds — issued in 1973, matured in ’88 — taken out in my name when I was a kid. I’ll see about cashing them in tomorrow.
