The quest continues

redbird mentioned having some, though she didn’t go to NYRSF today, so I’ll have to wait to find out if we’re talking about the same thing. Some web searching has turned up a Canadian artist on LJ who mentioned having bought a bunch of the things in April and some manga-style artists who are offering free comics to anyone who can find them some. I’ve emailed both. I’ve found another Canadian who actually lists a product name — “Staedtler Mars Special 12 #0.5 non-photo blue technical pencil leads” — and an art supply store, in a page that hasn’t been updated in six years. Unfortunately, these aren’t listed on Staedtler’s web site. I’ve emailed the art store anyway.
womzilla passed along the suggestion to check Sam Flax; they’ve been in one place long enough that even if the product isn’t being made anymore, they may have some old stock sitting around getting dusty. And I should also check upstairs at Kinokuniya Books.
