Anticipating new comics

After last week’s anguish over not having any new comics to read, I was a bit overwhelmed to see four new items in this week’s scan: Girl Genius #10, Boneyard #12, New X-Men #148, and Ranma 1/2 Vol 24 TPB. Then I remembered that I’d dropped Girl Genius and Boneyard down to buy-only-in-TPB status. (New X-Men will almost certainly either join them there or get dropped entirely after Grant Morrison leaves the book.) And drcpunk or mnemex will no doubt pick up Girl Genius #10 and bring it along to Games Club where I can read it.

Speaking of TPBs, I also see that New X-Men Vol 5, the “Assault On Weapon Plus” TPB, is shipping this week. Props to Marvel for getting these things out so quick; the “Weapon Plus” storyline (not one of Morrison’s best) just wrapped up two or three months ago.

And Thursday should be new comics day this week, because Monday was Columbus Day. I hope we all celebrated appropriately, discovering new continents and enslaving their existing denizens.

No crushes for me

Well, the first two are about what I expected. I don’t know who the third is:

0 people have a Secret Crush on agrumer.
0 people have a Public Crush on agrumer.
1 people have an Ex-Crush on agrumer.

...but I’m not about to pay four bucks to find out. (Why does it ask your gender to find the results?)

I didn’t take the crush quiz first time ’round, so nobody’s secret crush is me.

BFL, week 10, day 2: lower-body

OK, I blew off my workout yesterday. Lost another pound anyway; I’m down three and a half from Sunday, even though I broke discipline and had a shrimp parmesan hero for lunch (with garlic bread) after walking up to the Hoboken Barnes & Noble to see if they had Cory Doctorow’s new short story collection (they didn’t; I got a very weird manga paperback and an old Bruce Sterling novel as consolation). Confirms my suspicion that the eight pounds was mostly carb-and-water weight.
