No wonder they’re all smiling.

Hey, I just got his great offer in my email inbox. “Enhance your anatomy” it says. I guess someone’s sending it out to artists. I could use a better grasp of anatomy. I do well when I’ve got a model to draw from, but at other times my proportions slip a bit, and I find recently I’ve been forgetting about collarbones. But there’s apparently some kind of product I can buy that’ll take care of all that.

I’m still not clear on how it works, though. “Pleasure your partner every time with a bigger, longer, stronger Unit. Realistic gains quickly.” I’m guessing the unit is the head, the base unit of proportion, one-eighth the height of an ideal human figure. Strengthening the unit would help keep the rest of the body in proper proportion, quickly gaining more realism, and yeah, if you’ve got a partner in your artistic endeavors, they’ll be pleased to see your sense of proportion improve. Cool!

Y’know what’s a good, cheap source of reference material for illustrators? Dover coloring books. Yesterday I stopped off at Coliseum Books after work and picked up Fashions from India and Empire Fashions. Four bucks each!

I also got The Eyre Affair, the first of Jasper Fforde’s Thursday Next novels. I was a bit annoyed that these were filed in Literature; I’d been looking in the science fiction section, ’cause where else are you gonna look for a book about a time traveler from an alternate universe where people can step into works of fiction? I guess the publisher figures this main audience for this series is the sort of people who think SF will give them genre cooties. I’m wondering if I should read Jane Eyre first. And maybe Chesterton’s The Man Who Was Thursday.

Then Games Club at [livejournal.com profile] bigscary’s place. I only played a couple games of Money, scoring 760 points in the second.
