Oct. 29th, 2004 12:11 amFor a while I had this plan to get an absentee ballot and volunteer to get the vote out in Philadelphia, which has more electoral votes than NJ and is polling closer to the edge. Well, I’m not. I just can’t afford to take the time off work.
So instead I dropped some money on Election Protection, a site to protect voters’ rights and fight attempts to suppress the vote. Yes, they look like primarily a Democratic/liberal effort, even though they say they’re non-partisan and welcome Republican volunteers. Since I expect the vote-suppression efforts to be primarily GOP/right-wing, it seems appropriate.
