A chiropractor who claims he can treat anyone by reaching back in time to when an injury occurred has attracted the attention of state regulators.

Reaching through time to cure injuries? Could he be — the Conciliator?!

Burda calls his treatment “Bahlaqeem.”

“It is a made-up word and, to my knowledge, has no known meaning except for this intended purpose. It does, however, have a soothing vibrational influence and contains the very special number of nine letters,” Burda’s Web site says.

Made-up word? I guess not, then.

Games club:

Two games of Blokus — I did reasonably well in the first, horribly in the second. I’m coming to think that offensive play is more important than defensive, and that being second or third to the center is better than being first.

I’d been to the Strat on Thursday, and seen that Intrigue had come back into print, so I’d bought a copy. I started off poorly, but recovered and won, setting up [livejournal.com profile] bugsybanana for a backstab at the end. There wasn’t much enthusiasm for the game, though. I probably should have tried hamming it up with a little in-character talk — Stephen would have joined right in, and it probably would have caught on and upped the fun quotient.

Then two games of Ingenious, the first of which I won. I haven’t figured out if this game has a strategic component, though it does have tactics.
