I picture Lieberman more as one of the traitorous Metalunans (http://www.msu.edu/~daggy/cop/images/00000071.gif) from "This Island Earth." (http://207.136.67.23/film/Reviews/tie.htm) (I think the '50s/John Broome Guardians were fashioned after the template of E.E. Smith Arisians -- but after Ron Marz got his hands on them, the Guardians devolved to the point where there wasn't much difference between them and the Metalunans (or an angry high school principal having a bad day).
