Third consecutive day without gymming. It’s just been too hot. I got in a bunch of consecutive days before, and I’m planning to start the Hot Point Fitness plan on Sunday, so I don’t feel too bad about being a little lazy now. And I just bought a heart rate monitor at Paragon (cost more than buying it online, but the sales clerk was really helpful, letting my take the belt out of the package and try it on, then swapping in a longer belt when it turned out that the default one wasn’t long enough for my massive bod), which ought to improve my aerobic workouts.

I met [livejournal.com profile] ladymondegreen for lunch yesterday. Well, nominal lunch. We bought some beverages (and I got some fruit) and hung out in the seating area of a midtown deli for a couple of hours. And believe it or not the subject of a girl with colitis came up at one point.

On the way to meet her I passed Midtown Comics, and (since I was running early) went in and wound up buying a few things. (The latest Comics Journal, with an interview with Dave Cooper; the latest Super Manga Blast, which has a serial called “Club 9” that features manga characters with actual distinctive faces; and the first book of From Cloud 99, a pretty but pretentious adaptation of an online “cybernovel” whose site I’ve been unable to connect to) And it turns out that Midtown has a discount plan just like Cosmic — $20 store credit for each $100 purchased. Oh, a warning to people looking for buildings on West 40th Street: The building numbers abruptly jump by an order of magnitude and swap odd for even between Broadway and Seventh Avenue.
