Yeah, so Ryan Sohmer and Lar DeSouza crapped this out.

So Barry Deutsch did this.

Leading me to do…

Even less than that

(If anyone else is interested in matching the fonts, they’re ACME Secret Agent at 12 points and Anime Ace italic at 15 points, both free from Blambot. Because what’s the point of parody if you can’t match the fonts?)

Yeah, that was a "why do I read this again?" moment.

Hunh. It's more like a "make sure there's no forensic evidence in my browser cache that I ever used to read this in the past" moment.

In the past, I recall, they used to at least be clever and funny on occasion, although I did stop reading a year or two ago; but that whole comic isn't just awful and unfunny, it's LAZY. That's just bad formula writing there. It has all the effort of a typical Andy Capp strip.

Maybe I'm just tired, but I didn't even get the original. Mind, I'm not familiar with the original strip, so maybe I'm missing something.

Yikes. I have R. Crumb comics on my shelf, so I can put up with misogyny if it's interesting or funny (although I wouldn't blame women for hating the stuff), but this is just lame. Here's my version, with an actual joke:

It sucks, too, but less than the original. (And sorry for the multiple posting, couldn't get the coding right.)

Keeping the original dialogue in the final frame makes yours comedy gold.

Now I want to do a whole bunch of lead-ins to that final frame.
