The first one was too small
Oct. 12th, 2002 07:00 pmI actually got to look at an apartment today — $1600, 3 bedrooms, no broker’s fee, not far from my current digs. It was way too small for three people, though. The kitchen was nice, but only one of the “bedrooms” (that’s pretty much all there was, nothing that could be counted as a living room) was really large enough for an adult, and the bathroom was so tiny that some people would actually have difficulty using it. Oh well.
Games Club was sparsely attended last night. I played one game: Too Many Cooks, a simple and fun trick-taking game that I’d like to try again, even though I came in last. Next time I want to use the suggested rules variant so that I don’t wind up with the guy on my right having the same menu (victory condition) as I do three rounds out of five (a certain recipe for disaster, since play proceeds clockwise, making him almost certain to be able to grab the tricks we both need before I can). Most of us left a bit before midnight.
It’s been cold and rainy for the past few days. I’ve been out in the cold and damp without proper attire too much; I feel the warning signs of a cold coming on.
