Being dysfunctional about food

Woke up pretty late, decided to get outside while the sun was still shining, so left off workout for later. I’m pretty much settled on starting the Atkins Diet — I’ll pick up the book tomorrow — so I’m using that as an excuse to get in some of the fattening foods I won’t be allowed to eat from here on in. Had fried chicken for breakfast, then went shopping and picked up grapes, mushrooms, and a bag of spice drops. Noshed on spice drops while reading Atkins website, was about a third of the way through the bag when I read a bit about food addictions and cravings, felt a sudden spasm of revulsion and threw the rest of the bag away. Yeah, definitely starting Atkins next week.
- Weight: 281
- Dumbbell squats: 3 sets of 15, 12lb weights (24lbs total), not using the chair this time
- Stiff-legged deadlifts: 3 sets of 15, 15lb weights (30lbs total). Think I’ll move up to the 18-pounder next time.
- Ab crunches: 3 sets of 12. Actually I did 14 in the first set, because I got hiccups and lost count. Much better of working out on an empty stomach.
- Single-legged calf raises: 3 sets of 15, holding one 6lb weight. Yow.
Also found a local lumberyard (corner of First and Grove); I may build some bookshelves for one of the storage areas, adapting Teresa’s design for book-eating bookshelves.
Oh, and I got a small freelance job; they emailed me the contract this afternoon.
