[ pillar ] [livejournal.com profile] bigscary has started hassling me again about drawing. Past couple weeks I’ve been spending a lot of time downstairs with [livejournal.com profile] cadhla, and with my scanner upstairs. Also. most of my sketching has been very loose pencil work in a large (awkward to scan) pad.

[ girl ] But anyway, here are some bits I did at Starbucks before GC last Friday.

Your architectural drawing continues to surprise me with its precision. Your figure drawing is always good--this is a nice one, btw, though strangely reminicent of Terry Moore, maybe it's just the eyes and the stray bang--but tends towards the cartoony, while your drawings of buildings are tight and detailed.

I was struck by the architectural rendering also. As you say, they generally don't move (unless you live in southern california).

If you're ever in the Art Institute of Chicago, poke around until you find the gallery of the Louis Sullivan architectural renderings. It's pretty cool. (It was so long ago that I was in that particular room, I have no idea if it still displays Louis Sullivan drawings, to tell the truth...)

I like your figure drawings, too.
