There’s a third gym within easy walking distance of home, one I discovered while doing a Heavyhands walk, World Boxing and Fitness Center. Their yearly fee is a bit more than Synergy’s, but they’ve got a killer feature: No registration fee! If you’re paying monthly, you just pay for each month, and if you skip a month, no problem. Ladies and gentlemen, I think we have a winner.
But first I’m gonna use up my nine free days of tryouts at Synergy and Gold Coast. Before I do that I need to buy some cheap sneakers.
My weight is hovering between 272 and 269; I’d been afraid that I might have drifted up to 275 or higher. I think I’ve gotten the hang of maintaining my weight just by watching what I eat, but I need to exercise to lose.
Today’s big job was getting the Big Ass Air Conditioner installed. We’d picked this up last week, desperately hunting for something over 14000 BTU, and wound up with an 18000 BTU monster that needs a 220v outlet (which we fortunately have in Wil’s room, right next to the window). The weather immediately got cooler, so it sat on the floor while we procrastinated for a few days. But today was pretty hot, so I went out to the lumberyard to get some properly-sized pine to prop the monster into the right position, and we got it installed. I was worried over whether the window was strong enough to hold it, but it feels pretty solid. Tomorrow we find out how well it cools the house. We’ll probably need to get some fans to shove the cool air around.

almeda showed up.
