Sweat pooling. Bodily tissues liquefying. Fluids flashing to steam, blowing out through skin in bloody explosions. Boiled gasses flashing to plasma as high temperatures strip electrons away from atomic nuclei. Fundamental forces unifying, displaying operation of Grand Unified force as temperatures approach femtosecond-post-Big-Bang levels.

Too damn hot.

Yeah. After posting that entry I wandred off in search of someplace air conditioned and open-all-nightish to kill a few hours. Discovered that Junior's isn't open all night anymore. Wound up going into Manhattan and having mac and cheese at Veselka's. I got home around a quarter to six AM, and the power was back.

I'd have left you my keys, with my blessings on 24-hour use of the AC, while I bugged out to New Hampshire. (Trip report, micro version: the temperatures were somewhat lower, but I sprained my ankle while photographing a moose.)
