Cool praying mantis photos

Doing a bit of research on praying mantids, I found a page with some amazing photos:

Brilliantly colorful mantis, protecting her egg sack

Skeletal-looking mantis, like something from a fantasy painting

Leaf-like mantis

I’m still looking for good photos of mantid mouth-parts.

'lo child. I've added you as a friend because you share my feelings on the latest New X-Men plot twist, those mantis photos are badass, and I ended up on your journal seeing the "Father Lucifer" music post about two minutes after the same song finished playing on my own playlist which is CLEARLY A SIGN FROM THE HEAVENS.

Must be kismet. (Hail and kismet!) Especially since “Father Lucifer” was playing on net.radio, so it’s not like I’d picked it or anything. (I’ve got two or three Tori Amos albums, but not Boys for Pele.)

The skeletal mantid is the kind of insect picture that gave me nightmares as a child. *shudder*.

They were all pretty neat pictures, though.
