One annoying habit that Chimera has is failing to fetch new pages from LiveJournal and handing me a cached version of my Friends page instead. “What, nobody’s updated since last night? They can’t all be out Xmassing. Wait, hit Reload ... there they are!”

OK, it is now officially snowing. My mother just called, as she does for each winter’s first major snowfall, to make sure that I’m safe at home and not considering actually venturing out into the dread weather.
I could understand it if she’d grown up in Arizona or something, but she’s lived here in the northeast since she was ten. Every year she acts as if I’m taking my life into my hands by walking a few blocks and then stepping down into a tunnel where trains will whisk me off to my destination in total isolation from surface precipitation.
(Why does BBEdit’s spellcheck fail to recognize “Arizona”, and suggest that I replace it with “Arizonan”?)
