HP5 spoilage

The Hulk

bugsybanana came by to see a movie. I was in the mood to see stuff smashed and blown up, so we went with The Hulk; ladymondegreen came along.

I liked about half of it, LadyM didn’t like any of it, and I think Bugsy is somewhere in between. It’s paced much too slow, for one thing, and the editing is very self-conscious.

Blankets excerpt

For months, I’ve been waiting for Blankets, the new graphic novel from Craig Thompson (author of Goodbye, Chunky Rice, which I heartily recommend). I saw it at MoCCA, but it was $30 (for almost 600 pages), and I figured I’d be better off getting it at Cosmic, where it’ll count towards store credit. (Or where it’ll be 30% off, if it’s there tomorrow.) But it still hasn’t come in.

I was hunting around for reviews, and I found one that includes an eight-page excerpt. Looks pretty good!
