Sketching at Java & Jazz
Aug. 30th, 2003 04:24 amPicked up yet another new sketchpad today. I want to work large to get more use out of those big brush markers, so I got a 9x12 Canson pad, spiral-bound, about six bucks at Pearl. I sat in Java & Jazz on Broadway near 17th, sketching people at nearby tables and then the protagonist for this web comic I’ve been getting more ideas for:
( Melorne )Games-Club-in-Exile was held at Steve Tihor’s place (should be back home at Columbia next week). I got to play RoboRally for the first time, and narrowly missed winning. I got a great option right at the start: Crab Legs, which let me play a Move 1 in conjunction with a Turn to move one square sideways while retaining my orientation. That came in handy almost every turn.
Later we played three games of Fluxx, the new 3.0 edition. We were playing with eight players, and the first two games ended before everyone even got a turn. Both the same way: someone playing Taxation and getting the 10 Cards In Hand goal.
