Queen's spammer to bishop three

I played chess with James again today; he beat me this time. At the point I resigned, I was down to a rook and a queen, he had two rooks and a queen, and we each had a few pawns, but he had the far superior position. We talked about making Thursday a regular chess night; next week I may introduce him to Icehouse.

I just got a spam message advertising “high stakes sex”. Huh? A typical sexual encounter carries with it risks of pregnancy and AIDS — life and death. How can the stakes get higher than that? Has someone figured out a sexual technique that could end in genocide? Intercourse of Mass Destruction?

She's good. Why the dramatic under-eye marks?

I just like them. They’re a handy way of making the character distinctive.

I like them too. I had just been wondering if they were additional (to the horns, I mean) species indicators, or secondary sexual characteristics, rather than just-Melorme characteristics. Thanks.

Ah. They’d be something like sub-species indicators, if demons had true species. I figure that demonic biology has a large memetic component, so their reproduction wanders off the paths laid down by genetics. There are different types of demons, but they can interbreed pretty freely, even the ones who look so different that you’d think they were different species if you were going by how things work for mortal creatures.

I drew Melorne’s parents a week or two back; her mother has similar (but not identical) eye markings, but no horns. Her father has horns, but no eye markings.
