Games Club was under-attended last night, with competition from the NERO demo. Just one game of Puerto Rico (I came in a reasonably close second, which was good since I’d thought I was way behind). We also played Fluxx (the Taxation card got used four times in six turns), Quiddler (I did abysmally, thanks to two turns where I got no vowels), and, um, damn, anything else? We adjourned to Big Nick’s after; our waitress started off by asking “How many garlic soups?”.

Today was the latest session of [livejournal.com profile] drcpunk’s long-running CthulhuPunk game. An assassination perpetrated, an assassination attempt foiled, an airplane boarded in air, a huntmaster located, all in a day’s work.

After that, we went off to see The Matrix: The Third One. Better than the second. Don’t go in hoping to have everything neatly explained, ’cause it’s not. The Architect shows up only briefly, with a few short lines. Monica Bellucci’s breasts are packaged and displayed with an attention that clearly indicates that they’re the most important thing about her character. The Big War scenes kick much ass. A lot of the minor characters are given good scenes.

Update: I am reminded by people who remember more of Friday night than I do, despite being less awake than I was, that we also played a game of Citadels, which [livejournal.com profile] bugsybanana won.

I was gonna say Citadels. If you didn't remember that, you must have been even sleepier than I was, but then again I won in spite of being too sleepy to really know what was I doing most of the game.
