Getting out
Jul. 18th, 2002 10:14 pmIt’s amazing how just getting out of my apartment for a while will help me when I’m feeling down. Especially if I go someplace air-conditioned.
It’s Thursday, so the Compleat Strategist was open till 8 PM; I got there around 7:20. Looked at various stuff, chatted with some folks about how D&D is ideally geared towards nerdy 14-year-old boys (I should know, since that’s what I was when I played a lot of it), and picked up a copy of the Postmodern Magick supplement for Unknown Armies, because I’m hoping it’ll give me some ideas for the Wander Angels RPG campaign. I suppose I could have just borrowed Lisa and/or Josh’s copy (they’re listed separately as contributors, so I assume they each got a contributor’s copy rather than having to share one), but I wanted it today and I felt like spending money.
But not enough to drop $30 on the animated Batman art book. At least not today, especially not at Jim Hanley’s (where it wouldn’t count as 30% of the way towards me earning $20 in store credit, as it would at Cosmic Comics). Browsed a lot, now I have a head full of my most favoritest art form in the whole world, and I feel much better. Still feel to hot and wet to do anything useful.
