Rain on Chinatown
Jul. 19th, 2002 07:35 pmI got a later start than I’d hoped (mostly due to goofing around on the ’Net), but I did eventually get to Soho Art Materials (to locations, neither actually in Soho; I use the one on Grand Street) for a tube of M. Graham ivory black watercolor. Then, down to Ten Ren Teahouse for breakfast (fried chicken chunks, sticky rice, and green apple tea shaved ice with tapioca pearls). While I was relaxing at Ten Ren, reading Declare, at started thundering (very appropriate given what was going on in the book), then raining, hard. After it looked like it was tapering off I got ready to head off to Games-Club-in-Exile, but once outside I found that it was still raining pretty hard, and was kinda chilly. So I came back home to change into long pants, shoes, maybe even a jacket, and pick up my serious umbrella.
