Grist for my mill

I had trouble sleeping last night, so I read Absent Friends, and it was enough to put Paul Grist on my buy lots of stuff by this guy list. He’s got a good, clear, deceptively simple drawing style, and a great sense of layout and composition.

I've been attracted to his art style and have often thought about picking up KANE, which is the comic book I'm most familiar with him doing. Heck, it was the only comic book that I was aware he was doing, but I'm a lazy git and didn't bother to look and see what else he might be up to.

There are two Grist tpbs supposedly coming out from Image soon--the collected Jack Staff volume 1 (superhero) and the first volume of Kane (crime). They're both on Diamond's shipping list for next week, though that's no guarantee.
