Buffet the weight-loss slayer
Jul. 23rd, 2002 08:53 pmThat early awakening allowed me to meet Q and Aaron in Flushing at noon, for all-you-can-eat Chinese buffet at East on Main Street. This was Q’s first sight of me head-shaven, and my first sight of her with her newly short (about chin-length) hair. Cute!
The food was excellent, a really good variety, and reasonably priced. The lunch special (11:30 AM to 3:30 PM, I don’t remember whether that’s limited to weekdays) is $10 per adult, and came to $12.01 per person with tax and tip. I ate too much, but enjoyed it.
After, we hung out at the library, enjoying the air conditioning. (It was still 90°F today; it should be reasonable tomorrow.) We exited under a severely overcast sky, looking to storm any second. Aaron and I bought cherries ($2.49/pound, a damn good price for the yellow ones) and then we went home. It started raining while we were on the train, and had stopped by the time I got out at my home station.
