House of Flying Daggers

Saw House of Flying Daggers today with bugsybanana, akawil, and ladymondegreen. This has some really good fight scenes, and the plot seemed to be working OK — some predictable twists, some not so — until the last half hour or so, when it just falls apart. The final fight scene is the worst of the lot, and a major plot thread is left dangling, and one moment of intended drama had our audience laughing instead.

In other news, I’m re-reading the first six trades of Powers before starting the seventh. And my knee still hurts, but not as bad as yesterday.

I saw House of Flying Dagger last week with a bunch of people. I agree with you completely. During the last fight scene, Ken summed it up perfectly with the comment: "All of their problems could be solved with a nice threesome."

The whole row dissolved into laughter.
