Games Club: Played Puerto Rico for the first time in months. Wound up going first, and it turns out I don’t really know how to play from that position. Took Settler and a Quarry, but my money and production were pretty mediocre for most of the game. Still, wound up not doing too badly.

And I played something new: Kung-Fu Fighting, from Slugfest Games. It’s like Lunch Money, except playable. The cards actually tell you what they can be used for on the cards themselves, so you don’t have to go looking them up all the time to figure out what blocks what. The game is dominated by luck of the draw, and there’s no strategy and pretty obvious tactics, but it’s fun to yell “Eat my Spinning Flying Invincible Kick! Hwah!” and “I block, because Your Kung-Fu is Weak!” at each other.

And one of my co-workers introduced me to SaveToby.com. Make sure to check out the recipes.

Huge difference between 3-person and 5-person PR. With 5, I think getting the small market is best, though quarries are big, too. With 3, the roles are more balanced, IMO.
